Alavi was a 3,623 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1893 by Tyne Iron Shipbuilding Co. as William Storrs for Stephens & Mason and from 1906 owned under her new name of Alavi by Bombay & Persia Steam Navigation Co. Ltd. of Bombay. She was stopped by German submarine U-35 and scuttled by shellfire at position 37° 40' N, 00° 34' W - approximately 6 nautical miles North-East of Cape Palos. She was en route from Genoa to Carthagena in ballast.

Albion was a fishing vessel - most likely of 240 GRT and completed in 1907 for an unknown owner. She is understood to have struck a mine on 30 September 1915 at a position approximately 8 nautical miles south by south-west of Berry Head in Devon.

Ltd. She was sunk on 20 October 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine UB-38 approximately 15 nautical miles West-South-West of Portland Bill. She was en route frolm Rouen to Swansea in ballast.

She was en route from Calais to Barry Roads in ballast.

This Alice was a sea fishing vessel numbered GY541 built at Whitly in 1903 and registered to the East Anglian Steam Fishing Company Ltd. of Grimsby Fish Docks on 12 July 1915. She is understood to have been stopped and scuttled by German submarine UC-63 off the Humber and was listed as missing on 14 August 1917.

Alnwick Castle

Alnwick Castle was a 5,893 GRT steam passenger/cargo ship completed in 1901 by William Beardmore & Co. for Union-Castle Steamship Co. Ltd. She was sunk on 19 March 1917 torpedo fired by German submarine U-81 at position 47° 38' N, 13° 24' W - approximately 310 miles West by South of Bishop Rock. She was en route from London to Table Bay with passengers and a general cargo. Two of those listed in the table below, Mr. Patten and Mr. Winter lost their lives in 1916 but I have no further information about this.
